Message from New Principal

WPS blue seal

Dear Clark Street Developmental Learning School Families and Friends,

I am very honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as the new principal of Clark Street School.

I come to Clark Street Developmental Learning School after working as a school leader in the Boston Public Schools for the past four years. However, I am not new to Worcester or its schools. My family and I immigrated to the city from Albania when I was sixteen years old. I attended South High Community School, where I also returned to teach after graduating college.

I am a strong believer that all students can learn at high levels and succeed academically and beyond, regardless of their circumstances. As a principal at Clark Street Developmental Learning School, I aspire to create the conditions that will facilitate collaboration between parents and staff, in a joint effort to meet the needs of all children. I intend to work tirelessly with teachers so that all students have access to rigorous instruction and the necessary support to meet their social and emotional needs. I also believe that in order to fully support our students, there needs to be intentional collaboration between our school and our families. I look forward to working together in the months to come to strengthen this bond.

It has been my pleasure to meet many teachers and students at Clark Street Developmental Learning School this past month, and I look forward to getting to know more members of our school community in the near future. This month I will be attending the Summer Reading Kick-Off event scheduled for Thursday, June 15th from 5:30-7:00PM where I hope to meet many of you. In addition, I will be conducting community walks beginning in July, and will be hosting a series of Clark Street Families and Friends Coffee Hours during the summer, with the first one scheduled for Wednesday, July 19th, from 5:00-6:00PM at our school. Please come by to introduce yourselves and help me learn more about Clark Street School and the community that it serves. I would also be happy to meet with you at an alternate date and time. Please call our main office at (508) 799-3545 after July 19th to make an appointment.

I look forward to meeting you and to learning more about the students, the school, the community, and beginning our work together.

Warm regards,

Fjodor Dukaj
